Velociraptor Slashing & Killing Claw, 3.75 inches around the curve. 2nd Toe of Hind Foot Velociraptor was the smallest of the raptors (the movie Jurassic Park actually featured the larger raptor Utahraptor but called them Velociraptors). However, Velociraptor was no less fierce. Scientists believe all raptors may have hunted in packs, making any attack an encounter with death. Cast from a scientifically accurate model in fine museum-quality resin. A authentic or real Velociraptor claw if you could find one would cost many hundreds of dollars. THE IMPORTANCE OF FOSSIL REPLICAS By definition authentic fossils are unique one of a kind occurrences. No two fossils are identical. In fact many fossils are the one and only known specimen of a particular genus or species. With only one specimen available for study how do paleontologist around the world study such rare and often very fragile specimens? One answer to that question is through replicas cast directly from the original fossil. This way many exact copies can be made and distributed for research and museum display all over the world. Thus fossils replicas are an important scientific tool. In some cases a replica of a fossil lost or destroyed may be the only remaining evidence of the original fossil. Replicas allow direct study of otherwise unattainable specimens. Replicas allow the public to see, enjoy and learn about specimens that otherwise might be locked away in some storage cabinet or vault. For example, there is only one original Archaeopteryx specimen known as the Berlin specimen and that original is kept in a vault in Germany. However, nearly every museum in the world displays a replica of this important fossil. Another example is the Tyrannosaurus rex known as "Sue", the most complete specimen ever found. There is only one original but replicas are in museums all over the world. The importance of replicas in paleontology and education cannot be overstated.

Muskrats are covered with short, thick fur which is medium to dark brown or black in color, with the belly a bit lighter. As muskrats get older, they turn partly gray in color. The fur has two layers, which helps protect them from the cold water. They have long tails covered with scales rather than hair and, to aid them in swimming, are slightly flattened vertically, which is a shape that is unique to them. When they walk on land, their tails drag on the ground, which makes their tracks easy to recognize. Muskrats spend much of their time in the water and are well suited for their semiaquatic life. They can swim under water for 12 to 17 minutes. Their bodies, like those of seals and whales, are less sensitive to the buildup of carbon dioxide than those of most other mammals. They can close off their ears to keep the water out. Their hind feet are semi-webbed, although in swimming, their tails are their main means of propulsion. You will receive a skull similar to the reference images. These have been hot glued shut to preserve the shape of the skull. Please keep in mind that because these are natural specimens, discoloration, slight battle scars, missing teeth, and other minor imperfections are to be expected.
These are authentic Orthoceras Fossils which were a long, straight cephalopod from the Devonian Period (350 million years ago). They lived in a shallow sea where Morocco is now. They became extinct approximately 190 million years ago. These fossils were excavated with some of the matrix left intact to showcase their beauty and how they looked as they were pulled from the ground. • Listing is for one fossil similar to that shown • Can range from 10-12"
The Ammonite is a very powerful earth healing fossil. Its spiral shape symbolizes continual change and evolution. Ammonites have absorbed cosmic energy over eons of time and help to stimulate the life force (Chi) within. Ammonites are often used for activating Kundalini and life path energies. The Ammonite is also often recommended to put in the home to attract health, prosperity and success. The Ammonite draws off all negative energies. Think of the Ammonite spirals as a filter, drawing in these dense energies which are no longer needed, moving them through the spirals and releasing them as fresh, positive, loving life force energies. Physically, Ammonites can help to increase stamina and vitality. Use Ammonites when working with issues of blood pressure or problems with the ears, lungs and degenerative disorders. Ammonites will also help to lift the heaviness that is sometimes felt during depression. "Ammolites" are Ammonite fossils found in Madagascar and Alberta (Canada) that display iridescence by compression and mineralization of the Ammonite fossil. These iridescent Ammonites are often of gem quality when polished. In no case would this iridescence have been visible during the animal's life; additional shell layers covered it.
