The 5-9 Hydrion Lo Ion Test Kit will give accurate pH readings at each .5 pH unit from pH 5.0-9.0, and is excellent for measuring the pH of waste water, pure water, tap water, rain water and pond water. Lo Ion Kits give accurate readings in dilute or unbuffered solutions where ""dip and read"" tests may read low. Estimates can be made to 0.25 ph units. The color chart has pH matches at [5.0][5.5][6.0][6.5][7.0][7.5][8.0][8.5][9.0]Each kit contains a 15-foot roll of test paper, matching color chart and one(1) capped 4 ml. sample tube, packed in a polypropylene protective case.Place a 3" strip of Lo Ion paper in the sample tube. Fill the tube with test solution and cap it. Invert the tube several times to ensure uniformity of color. After 1 minute, compare the sample tube with the color chart.
Excellent chemical durability of this Pyrex flat bottom borosilicate boiling flask allows contamination-free results and long life under the toughest lab conditions. Carefully controlled wall thicknesses provide the proper balance between thermal expansion and mechanical strength for greater shock resistance. Long necks with tooled mouths take a number 2 rubber stopper. 230 Degrees C normal working temperature. Available in 125-milliliters capacity.
Stratus RG202M Metric Rain Gauge Easily and accurately monitor rainfall amounts with the Stratus Rain Gauge, a precision weather instrument manufactured to United States Weather Bureau specifications. Official weather observers around the country rely on these standards for accurate weather reporting. Constructed of heavy-duty, UV resistant polycarbonate, this rain gauge will stand up to years of rough weather and full sun without fading or corroding. Metric Measurement Only. A funnel top on the rain gauge catches rain and delivers it to a 25.4 mm measuring tube, while the extra-large outer cylinder captures rain volumes over 2.54 up to 27.94 centimeters, and can be detached to measure snow, hail, or sleet. The Stratus is guaranteed accurate to 1/50th of a centimeter! Installing the rain gauge on a post (away from buildings and trees) is easy with its exclusive "Quick Connect" bracket, which lets you quickly remove the cylinder for easy measurement or cleaning (and there are no metal parts to rust!).
Neo Sci Lab Investigation Demonstrating Biotechnology with Bioluminescent Proteins
Manufacturer: School Specialty
Brand: Neo/Sci Corporation
Neo/SCI lab investigation demonstrating biotechnology bioluminescent proteins. As darkness descends upon the ocean, the water becomes alive with displays of bioluminescence - living light produced by a myriad or organisms. Your students will be fascinated by their own, firsthand look at this amazing phenomena. In the process, they'll learn how bioluminescence occurs and how, through biotechnology, this unique trait of select ocean organisms can be transferred through genetic cloning. Developed by professor sharon doering (columbia college). Class size: 40 students.
Introduce your weather watchers to scientific observation with colorful, easy-to-read instruments. Young students make observations about sunlight, rainfall, wind and temperature with this rugged beginning weather station. Devices attach to a central pole that you can stand either in the ground or in a large flower pot. Approximately 48" high.

Scale cubes used for taking pictures and photographs of meteorites, geology, plants, or anything where you need an object in the picture as a reference for size and/or direction. They are made of Tungsten Carbide, a very hard dense material. Properly cared for they should last a lifetime. They come in un plated, PVD (18 K gold), PVD (Black which is made of Titanium Nitrile and Aluminum) You can get them as either shiny (polished) or matte (brushed) finishes. The letters are Laser Etched T on top and 1cm B on bottom N, E,W, and S on sides. All letters have a dot showing the bottom of the letter. Scale cubes are used for a variety of purposes, used in geologic (meteorites) pictures taken in the field, in a photo studio, and as a reference in photographs where the size of an object would not otherwise be known. (Geologist often used shovels or rulers in the past but scale cubes are now being used more often in taking pictures of small objects) They are often used where the faces can be aligned to match compass bearings. The different faces (T-top, B-bottom, N-North, S-South, E-East, W-West) can also be used as an indication as to which side of the object the viewer is seeing
On dark backgrounds gold is a good color for contrast in the picture
