These lovely dangle pierced earring are crafted from obsidian gemstones that have been carefully polished to a beautiful smooth finish. Dark obsidian is the stone of protection. This stone is used to protect against negative feelings. It draws out tension and promotes strength & compassion. Enhance strength & protection with these fashionable obsidian triple nugget dangle earrings. Each earring is crafted of 3 tumbled obsidian nuggets and hangs approx.1.25 inches from the brass hook. As with all naturally occurring gemstones, no two are alike. Each will display different variations in color & pattern making them unique, one of a kind specimens.
One large Black and White Quill (9 to 11 inches). From the African Crested Porcupine, their quills otherwise known as spines are used primarily for defense. Porcupines are nocturnal and are herbivores. In Africa their quills are used for decorative and for good luck charms. They have also been known to make musical instruments. Porcupine quills are actually made of many layers of keratin, the same biological material that makes up hair and fingernails, among other things. These beautiful quills range from 9 to 11 inches in length and would make a great addition or start to any collection. We pick these at random form a huge lot of quills. You will receive one porcupine quill. Be careful these quills have very sharp points.

Perform a wide variety of geometric constructions with the GeoTool Compass and its built-in protractor, ruler, and straightedge! The freely rotating 360° protractor provides accurate measurements and makes drawing circles, angles, arcs, sectors, and even pie charts easy. The compass fits both pens and pencils, features both fixed and adjustable radii, and provides direct comparison of inches and centimeters. The GeoTool Compass includes easy-to-understand instructions and is safe and appropriate for students of all ages. Classpack contains 30 GeoTools. Educational products, manipulatives, and kits incorporate applied math and science principles into classroom and homeschool-based projects. Teachers in pre-K, elementary, and secondary classrooms use educational kits, products, and manipulatives alongside math, science, literacy, and STEM curriculum to demonstrate concepts and real-world applications through hands-on activities.
Laboratory Plastic Bath Kit for Future Scientists - Measure, Squirt, and Pour (Beakers, Wash Bottle, Cylinder, Funnel)
Anything that can hold and dump water, shall be used in the bathtub. Or at least that's what we've noticed in our households. We thought, why not give them a set of tools that will familiarize them with the science laboratory? Introducing the Future Scientist's Laboratory Plastic Bath Kit. The kit contains: a 500mL (16.9oz) beaker with handle (looks like a mug), 250mL (8.4oz) beaker without handle (looks like a cup), 50mL (1.6oz) Graduated Cylinder (a tube to measure things), a 2.5" funnel (for pouring things through), a 250mL (8.4oz) wash bottle (for squirting water out of), all contained inside of a giant 2000mL (67oz) beaker. It is comprised of lab quality plasticware (most with graduations for measuring) for durable, every day use. It is dishwasher safe (although we recommend top shelf).
This fully assembled Memory Metal Heat Engine demonstrates the conversion of heat energy into mechanical energy. This simple Nitinol Wire Heat Engine is constructed of a boomerang shaped clear acrylic holder with two high quality cast aluminum pulleys. The pulleys feature ball bearing construction for fluid movement. Simply immerse the leading edge of the smaller pulley into an 45 - 90 Degree Celsius water bath, give the larger wheel a gentle spin and watch it fly! These engines will work in either direction. This engine really moves, easily topping 500 RPM! ----SPECIFICATIONS---- Overall Length: 8" / 20cm Thickness: @ 1" / 25mm Weight: 4 oz. Minimum Operating Temperature (Starting Temperature May be Higher): 45 Deg. C Maximum Operating Temperature: 90 Deg. C ----CONCEPT---- This ingenious memory metal engine exploits a property of the Nitinol metal alloy that makes it want to return to the shape it was originally formed in when produced. This property of Nitinol alloy is known as the "memory effect". Nitinol wire is produced in straight lengths at a temperature of @600 Degrees Celsius. After it is allowed to cool, it is manually deformed and joined into a closed loop and positioned around the pulleys. When submerged into hot water (@ 80 Degrees C), the Nitinol wire tries to return to its original straight shape. The Nitinol exerts torque on the lower (smaller) wheel as it tries (in vein) to return to its original shape. This torque spins the lower wheel, and more Nitinol is drawn into the hot water. The other side of the loop is cooled by the air which momentarily relaxes the wire as it passes around the smaller pulley. The process will repeat as long as the water remains warm enough.
Each uranium ore specimen is tested with a GCA-07W NRC Certified Digital Geiger Counter before embedding in plastic. Uranium ore specimen size and color varies. The radioactivity of the embedded uranium ore sample may not be detectable by a Geiger Counter through the plastic. These are handmade products so there may also be tiny air bubbles trapped in the polyester plastic from the casting and embedding process. Shipping Information: We are always in compliance with Section 13 from part 40 of the NRC Nuclear Regulatory Commission rules and regulations and Postal Service regulations specified in 49 CFR 173.421 for activity limits of low level radioactive materials. The item will be shipped in accordance with Postal Service activity limits specified in Publication 52. Radioactive minerals are for educational and scientific use only. Sale of uranium ore is in compliance with all U.S. Federal regulations (Part 40) and NY State Regulations (10 NYCRR Part 16 and 12 NYCRR Part 38) as defined under Appendix A exemptions.
Our DNA helix science keychain is a 3 dimensional tribute to the power of biology and genetics. It measures 2 inches in height and .75 inches in width. It is made from silver plated alloy metal in the United States. It hangs from a standard stainless steel key ring. It comes gift packaged in a nice box with a small card where you could write a cute note like-- Bless your gene pool, I would like to combine our genetics, or so glad I am part of your gene pool etc. We have it all ready to go for you to make your life easier.
The Stirling Engine is an External Combustion Engine (the heat source is outside the engine) and can use any available source of adequate heat or cold. It is a classic illustration of converting heat energy into mechanical work using a thermodynamic cycle similar to the well-known Carnot cycle. In this case, however, the engine needs two pistons, a small power piston and a larger "displacement piston" that also stores heat energy. This Sterling engine operates off a burning alcohol lamp that runs a piston. It is an excellent 'toy' for hobbyists or as a serious demonstration model for work or classrooms. All units are tested before shipping.
